Job Title: Costing Coordinator

Position Summary: Provide timely and accurate financial performance information to the organization to facilitate in estimating the standard costs of our systems and execute projects according to those costs. Serve as the leader and focal point in generating, updating, and maintaining, the accuracy and usability of the company's costing system used for pre-sale and post-sale activities.

Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent and at least 2 years of college education in an accounting related field or industrial engineering.

Required Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting required; Experience with computerized scheduling programs helpful.

Relevant Skills: Must be able to work without direct supervision and possess good computational and organizational skills. Must have ability to interface with vendors, management, design engineers, and other company personnel on a technical level. Good organizational skills; Ability to handle stress produced by accuracy and time pressure, uneven workflow patterns, etc.; Must be detail oriented.

Physical Requirements: Sitting for prolonged periods of time; Considerable walking including climbing and descending stairs required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Tasks:

  1. Provide timely and accurate financial performance information to the Project Managers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    1. Provide regular financial performance updates to project managers on all projects (sold orders, internal orders, and R&D).
    2. Generate cost variance analyses for each project.
    3. Support the generation of presentations to report project performance to upper management.
    4. Assist in preparation of project entry documentation and other project related documentation.
    5. Answer questions and provide guidance to Project Managers regarding project budgets, cost reviews, and specifications.
  2. Serve as the leader and focal point in generating, updating, and maintaining the accuracy and usability of the company’s costing system. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    1. Proactively update cost sheets according to recent project execution activities, R&D activities, or other design related activities. An in-depth knowledge of FREUND Inc.’s cost accounting is fundamentally essential in supporting this task.
    2. Create new cost sheets and associated new cost estimates. Delete obsolete cost sheets from the system as required.
    3. Update sales summary sheets as necessary and notify Product Managers if major changes in expected profit margins.
    4. Identify and communicate inconsistencies with current design practices and current costing methods.
    5. Identify and communicate inconsistencies with current sales support materials (proposal descriptions, drawings, etc.) and current costing methods.
  3. Create, update, and maintain data for company measurable information as defined by management.
  4. Protect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information, client data, proprietary knowledge, and any other confidential information/materials.

Discretionary Tasks:

  1. Prepare sales support materials as required.
  2. Contact FREUND Inc. vendors, as necessary, to obtain updated costing information.
