POSITION FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting the warehouse team, to include Utility, Shipping & Receiving, Assembly, and any other areas as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Tasks:
Utility:
- Conduct audits as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and as needed).
- Sweep areas as assigned, primarily Assembly and Shipping Receiving areas, weekly or more often if needed. Identify and clean areas needing special attention.
- Clean shop break room as needed
- Restock paper in offices as needed.
- Operate forklift for all departments to deliver and/or move parts and equipment per specifications.
- Collect garbage in all areas of plant at least twice per week using forklift.
- Pick up parts and/or equipment using company truck as required.
- Collect recycling in office and shop as needed
- Perform grounds maintenance as needed
- Perform miscellaneous repairs and general maintenance in all areas of the facility and grounds as needed
- Assist with implementing and maintaining safety measures (clear paths to emergency equipment, appropriate signs, etc.)
Shipping/Receiving:
- Construct skids, crates, and boxes for the packaging of goods, ensuring the goods are padded, braced, and secured for safe transit to destination.
- Pull parts from inventory and pack parts orders as required under direction of Shipping Coordinator.
- Open packages, skids, crates, etc. and process receipts / transactions on incoming deliveries.
- Placing items in stock or notifying appropriate person/department as necessary.
- Expedite received parts, material, and/or components through inspection for active projects.
- Assist with Cycle Counts as needed.
- Process remaining picks daily for active projects.
- Print labels and issue components for manufacturing jobs as needed.
- Assist with non-conforming materials, take parts and paperwork to shipping or designated area for pick-up.
- Assist the Material and Inventory Coordinator as necessary.
Assembly:
- Assist Electrical Assemblers and Mechanical Assemblers as necessary.
- Assemble/wire and/or repair FREUND Inc. equipment
- Assist in testing and adjusting electrical and mechanical aspects of FREUND Inc. equipment per specifications during operational testing on machines prior to shipment.
- Assist in setting up machines prior to shipment by configuring machine per P & I specifications.
Discretionary Tasks:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: Some general maintenance experience required. Prior forklift experience preferred.
- Relevant Skills: Must have valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the company vehicle policy; Must be able to obtain an operator’s permit for forklift required; Ability and willingness to follow directions. Must be a self-started who is able to effectively manage multiple tasks. Must be motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally. May involve climbing and working at heights of 30-60 feet; Must be able to sit, reach, twist, and work in small, confined areas. Required to sit, stand, and walk frequently. Occasionally required to bend, squat, reach, and twist.
